Effat was born in Isfahan, Iran. She then moved to the UK and has cultivated organic, forest farm permaculture-style gardens at her homes. She currently has a small functioning kitchen garden which she’s transformed from a simple backyard, to be productive with all its areas; fire pit, natural wood and brick seating areas, trees and wild plants grown from seed, cuttings and compost. Harvest. She has nothing which isn’t edible or useful in her kitchen. She saves all the seeds, stems and husks from wholefoods and her trees to produce aromatic pillows and rarely has any waste. The young trees and plants are viewed as resources; from which to collect all meals from. Tomatoes, geranium, 3cl, plum, mulberry, mallow, nettle, mint, lemon balm, potato…
Preserved fruit, dried peel…
Inside she has converted everything into a wooden and natural fibre home; minimalist, functional, sewing and handicrafts, bookcases, organic; natural clothing and household cleaners. She makes her own Natural Skincare range with fresh body scrubs, solutions and creams.
For storage she uses sturdy multi-purpose woven Baskets, earthenware pottery and recommends wearing loose, flowing clothes to prevent tight obstruction or clinging onto the skin.
